Home Sweet Home!

So after over a year or looking for a home to buy and finding NO luck we finally decided to build.  We had made several offers on many different homes and lots but nothing seemed to work out.  Most of the homes we were looking at were short sales and that whole process was just completely frustrating...so we finally decided that we should just build a home.  We found a home in a new build subdivision in Provo that we really liked so we decided to go for it!  It has definitely been a rocky process so far but we are hoping that everything works out OK and that we will finally get to have a place of our own soon!

Here is our lot...I love the open space around us and the view of the mountains!

The boys checking out our hole!

Yay!  We have walls...finally!
It is so fun to actually be able to walk through OUR home!

The boys love to play at the house and check everything out.  I think they have a competition to see who can get the dirtiest and who can find the most dangerous object to play with...ahhh!
Putting on the roof!  We signed our contract way back in February so the process has definitely been quite slow. Our original close date was July 5th but that has come and gone...so we are now hoping to be done around the middle to end of August...oh the joys of building!

Tonsils

Julien has HUGE tonsils!  The Dr's use a 1-4 scale and Julien's Dr said that his were a 4+...they were basically touching!  They were so huge that he was having trouble breathing at night.  He snored super loud and had sleep apnea.  So needless to say they had to go!  We told Julien that he had to get his tonsils and adenoids taken out and that it meant he would have to go to the Dr but that he would get to eat all the ice cream and cold treats that he wanted...he couldn't wait!

So excited for cold treats...poor kid had no idea what was coming!
He was so happy and brave!  He thought it was so cool that he got to go to the hospital that Kai has been to and played with the same toys and worn the same clothes that he had seen in Kai's pictures.

After surgery...this is about the time that he started to realize that he was not given all the details about getting his tonsils out and that maybe it was not so cool after all...which made my heart hurt.
The next 2 weeks were pretty tough...the recovery was worse than we had expected and Julien and I got very little sleep.  Julien would wake up screaming and say that he wanted his tonsils back  : (
This surgery was may more intense than I thought.
He has now fully recovered though and is doing great...no more snoring or complaining that he can't breath...so I guess it was worth it!
