Our First Visitor!!!

The past week was just like heaven! Kristy came and stayed with us for a week! We were able to do so many fun things and it was so nice to have someone to hangout with and help me with Julien. We loved having her here and were so sad to see her go.
Wednesday was her first day here, the boys took her on a hike up to Manoa Falls. Later that afternoon we went down to Waikiki Beach and to the International Market Place.

Thursday morning started early...Janelle took us and Nancy to Laie to go to the temple. After the temple we went to costco, something Nancy and I normally just dream about since it is pretty much impossible to go without a car. After the temple we picked the boys up from school and went to the mall. We ended the night with Grey's Anatomy and the office...gotta love Thursdays!

Friday morning Kristy, Julien and I went to Pearl Harbor which was really neat. Later that afternoon we went back to Waikiki to go boogie boarding and walk around the shops.

Saturday was nuts...we did SO much but it was SO much fun! We drove all the way around the island. Our first stop was the Dole Plantation which was ok...a little overrated. We then stopped for snow cones at a famous snow cone shack...seriously! I normally don't even like them but they were delicious. I don't know what their secret it but they are dang good! After that we went to Sharks Cove to go snorkeling. It was a cool little spot with tons of fish however I couldn't actually force myself to go in deeper than my knees because I am terrified of sharks...so swimming in a place called sharks cove didn't seem like the best idea. Our next stop was Sunset Beach to watch the surfers. We got there and there was a surf competition going on...i was soooo excited! I have been wanting to go to one since we got here. It was so cool to watch...those guys are nuts! We then went to the temple grounds and had a picnic...it was pouring rain but we still had fun. We ended the night by taking Kristy to dinner at Outback...we never get to go out to dinner so it was a big deal for us, we enjoyed it thoroughly.

Sunday was a nice relaxing day...well after church was over. We had our primary program during sacrament, which was a little chaotic but went better than expected. The next two hours however were an absolute nightmare. They decided to have lunch for the kids in the gym and pretty much just let them run wild for two hours. I was pretty much babysitting for the entire ward. After church though we came home and had a really nice dinner with Paul and Nancy. We went for a drive up to the Pali Lookout and then to Punchbowl Memorial. That night we came home and watched Emma Smith. It was a nice day.

Monday was Kristy's last day so we decided to go to the beautiful Waimanalo Beach in the morning to get some sun and boogie board. The waves were really weak but Kristy was able to get one good wave. We then picked the boys up from school and went to Hanauma Bay to snorkel and I got to see my first TURTLE! I was pretty excited but a little nervous it was HUGE!

It was a wonderful week-the best we have had so far...thanks for coming to visit Kristy! We look forward to having other visitors...SOON!

Canadian Thanksgiving!

Yesterday was Canadian Thanksgiving so I decided to make a big turkey dinner for Landon. Shopping for thanksgiving dinner by myself, without a car was ridiculous!! Of course I somehow ended up on the wrong bus and had to walk almost a mile carrying a 12.4lb turkey along with all the other groceries that I had...lets just say I almost left the turkey on the side of the road several different times. Eventually I made it home and began the thanksgiving day cooking. Everything turned out perfect and was sooo good! We invited Paul, Nancy and Abi to come over and eat with us. It was a lot of fun!

I think Landon enjoyed his job of carving the turkey a little too much!

Living the life of luxury

So the past few days have just been absolutely wonderful! Paul and Nancy were given a van to use for a whole week!!! I cannot even tell how amazing it has been to have a vehicle! We have been able to do so many things and I have not even had to think about getting on a bus! We were able to go to one of our favorite beaches twice this week which normally we aren't even able to go to because it is too far on the bus. We were also able to find a new beach that was really nice but the waves were HUGE! These are some pics of Landon attempting to boogie board, he did catch a few waves but mostly got tossed around like a rag doll. Even the locals that were there were having a hard time...you can't really tell in the pics but the waves were soooo big! I didn't even attempt to get in the water.

The next few pics are from Waimanalo Beach. We had a lot of fun boogie boarding there even though I got crushed by a wave and swallowed A LOT of water!

Then today Nancy and I and the babies were able to get out of the house and actually go to walmart and the mall...no bus, no walking and we were even able to bring the strollers along who would have ever thought that was possible. What a fun week! Now I just need to convince Landon that we need to get a car so we can continue to enjoy Hawaii!

Video of Julien

SLEEP

So I am a little hesitant to write about this because I am scared I will jinx myself but I am just so excited I can't contain myself..Julien has slept 11 hours straight the past 2 nights in a row!!! Julien has only slept through the night once before when he was about 4 months old, normally he will wake up 3-6 times a night! The past two nights have just been absolutley wonderful. I had completely forgotten what it was like to sleep through the night and am hoping that this isn't just a temporary thing. It's funny that he started sleeping through the night when he did because just that same day I was talking with Landon and told him that I was going to take away Julien's pacifier because he has become so dependent on it that he spits it out in his sleep and then he wakes up and won't go back to sleep until I go in there and put it back in...i think he heard me say I was going to take it away and stopped crying during the night so I would let him keep it :) whatever as long as I can sleep! Naptime is also WAY more pleasant now. I can put him down in his crib while he is still awake and he will just go to sleep on his own without crying!...I had a rough couple of weeks teaching him to fall asleep by himself but now its just wonderful! I love babywise! I read it before Julien was born and said I was going to follow it but it was hard because he was my first baby and I along with everyone else wanted to spoil him...i did my best but never really committed to the putting him down before he falls alseep part, but we are following it now and life is great! I just hope Julien continues to agree with me!
