Happy Birthday Kai

I can't believe little baby Kai is ONE!

Height: 29inches 23%
Weight: 19.4lbs 6%

Kai has had a pretty rough year but has been pretty happy through it all. He started off the year with Whooping Cough that lasted for 4 months! He has also had 6 ear infections, (that we have treated...every time we went to the Dr he had an infection) the flu, a broken wrist and 2 fingers, impetigo, roseola and every other virus possible and cut 13 teeth...ya Kai and I have not had a whole lot of sleep the past few months.

It is so fun to watch Kai and see his little personality...he is all boy! He loves to be on the go and is VERY busy! Since he was about 8 months old all he has wanted to do is walk. So I spent literally ALL day for the past 4 months walking around holding his hands, breaking my back! Finally about 2 weeks before his birthday he mastered walking and can now walk wherever he wants all on his own!

Kai is starting to talk and it is so much fun! So far his vocab consists of,

dada, uh oh, Juju, wow, bath, fish, ohh wow, dog, ya, night night and go

He loves balls and has quite the little arm on him. I say ready, set, and he says go and throws the ball.

He has always been a happy baby and loves to be around people. If you smile at him or make a funny face he will always laugh.

He is a really good eater and will eat almost anything and will double or triple what Julien eats at every meal.

He loves his blanket and binky and has to have them to sleep.

He is a water baby and likes to be outside.

He goes to bed super easy and sleeps through the night but wakes up around 5:30 EVERYDAY! I am praying that he will sleep better once he gets tubes in his ears!

Kai loves his brother and is constantly watching him and trying to keep up with him. Its so cute to watch them play together.

He has the biggest eyes and smile that I am scared are going to get him out of everything in the future. Kai is a sweetheart and we love him to pieces! Happy Birthday little Kai!

Kai had a fish themed party this year. He loves fish and fish was his first word, besides dada and uh oh.

This picture makes me sad...as you can see his ears are still hurting him even while he is on meds. He was not feeling the best on his birthday but was still a sweetheart! I can't wait for his surgery!

Summer...a little catch up

We took Julien camping for real this time. We went camping in Payson Canyon and had a blast!

Hiking in the Canyon. We woke up in the morning and told Julien we would take him for a hike. He got excited and ran out of the tent and said, "come on hikers!" So funny!

Visiting the UP house
Copper Mine

Aquarium
Yes, I actually touched the rays

Cascade Springs
Julien loved to "read" all the signs along the trail

1st Campout

Julien REALLY wanted to try camping but we were a little hesitant to take him out in the woods the first time so we set up the tent in the backyard to let him try it out and he LOVED it! He keeps begging us to let him go camping...hopefully we will have some time before the summer is over!

He was so excited!
Of course we had to roast marshmallows too!
He was so excited it took him like 2 hours to fall asleep.

Broken

Poor baby Kai has not had an easy life...it seems like he has been sick almost his entire life and now has a broken wrist and fingers! The morning after we got back from Canada Kai fell and would not stop crying and kept waving his arm. We took him to the Dr and sure enough he had a buckle fracture in his wrist and had broken 2 fingers!

He is a tough kid and doesn't let anything slow him down... He still wants to walk everywhere and has even figured out how to crawl with one arm.
Of course this had to happen during summer so he is now that kid at the pool with the bag on his arm haha! Poor thing!

I think we have a long road ahead of us with this kid! I am just hoping we don't have anymore ER bills for a little while, this summer has been a killer!

4th of July

Most of our day was spent in the car driving back from Canada but we left early enough to make it back in time for fireworks!
Julien loved the sparklers

Kai was not a very big fan of the fireworks
