This past weekend Landon and I went to Maui!!! A few weeks ago we were watching the news and they announced that Go Airlines was having a sale and was releasing a selected number of $3 seats. I woke up at 4am to get tickets...but it was SO worth it! We had so much fun! Maui is beautiful and we loved the hotel we stayed at! It was my first time leaving Julien and I was SO nervous but it was definitely a nice break.

Love at first sight
The first thing we did when we got there was drive up to Haleakala...this is a pic from our drive on the way up

Walking up in the clouds
A view of the crater
After Haleakala we drove along the northwest coast of Maui and it was BEAUTIFUL!!! You can't really tell from the pics but it was so pretty. On several occasions I was scared for my life as the dirt road was only wide enough for one car. When another car would come from the opposite direction I was sure we were going off the side of the cliff.

We stayed at the Westin Resort and Loved it! It was so beautiful and so relaxing!

This is the view from our room

Hanging out in Lahaina

Sunset on the beach at our hotel on Kaanapali Beach

Landon loved the water slide

Relaxing by the pool
It was a wonderful trip but definitely way too short...we cannot wait to go back!

A little update

CHICKEN POX

I took Julien to the Dr for his 15 month check up and while we were there they gave him his shots, one of which was the chicken pox...a week later Julien got a high fever and then came the pox! I was not very happy, I hate making Julien get his shots anyway but normally you get the shot so you dont get sick...well apparently that was not the case this time because Julien got the chicken pox from the chicken pox vaccine! Poor little guy got them pretty bad, he even had them in his mouth! Needless to say it was a very long week being stuck at home with very little sleep and one very uncomfortable baby!

It's kind of hard to see his pox but they were all over his face

Julien didn't sleep very well this week so I was very grateful when he finally passed out on the floor watching a movie.

Father's Day
Julien and I tried to make Father's Day special for Landon...he is such a wonderful father! I love him and am so grateful for everything he does for our family! Here are a few pics from the day...
I helped Julien make this card for daddy...Julien was so proud to give it to him

Landon on his little scavenger hunt to find his gifts
Julien helping Landon assemble a fan...if you have been to our house you know that a new fan was absolutely necessary
Enjoying Father's Day feast...he loved the mashed potatoes
We made a turtle cake for Landon and yes Julien's hand is in the toaster, it's unplugged...I love the look on his face..."ya my hand is in the toaster, what are you gonna do about it?"

Summer Break

Landon is out of school for the summer and doesn't have to start his internship until the 1st so we have had 9 whole days to play together in the sun! It has been so much fun...here are a few things that we have done.

Memorial Day we went to Waimanalo Beach with some friends from our ward for some beach volleyball and boogie boarding

Moms got free admission to Sea Life Park this month...we were so excited to go!

Julien LOVED the aquarium!!!

The Sea Lion climbed up on the bench right in front of us. I had to move my legs out of the way we were so close!

I think we might have been a little too busy this week...about half way through the week Julien had a major meltdown...this is what we found when we went in his room. He was supposed to be taking a nap which obviously DID NOT happen!

He threw all of his animals and blankets out of his crib, he even ripped his mobile off the side of the crib and as you can see is still screaming
Of course we had to play a little wii
Julien and Abi jumping in the crib

So it was a little hot and we forgot our swimsuits so Julien borrowed Abi's...it looked like a little pink speedo haha!
Julien loves to jump off the edge of the pool now. We say "ready, set" and he says "go", then jumps off!

Saturday we got together with friends from the ward again for more beach volleyball...this time at Waimea Bay
Julien and Abi warming up on the sidelines
Landon and the boys jumped off the cliff

I guess all good things have to come to an end...we were relaxing at home last night and this sucker almost landed right on my head!!! I will definitely not miss these when we leave Hawaii!
Here are some videos from the week

Look Who's Talking

So I put off this posting for a while because I have been in denial...I have been waiting for Julien to be able to say something other than dada because I didnt want to admit that dada was his first word, but sadly I think it was. Julien has been saying dada for a few months now but in my defense I am not sure he really knew what it meant for a long time, but it was the first word that we could say to him and he would repeat it back. And although Julien will still not say mama when we ask him to say it, when he is crying he will reach for me and say mama, so although Landon tries to tell me he just makes that sound when he cries...I don't believe the lies...he really can say mama just not on command. Then, this past Tuesday when I was in California Julien started to say "uh-oh" He will purposely drop his toys on the floor and then say "uh oh"...it's pretty cute. Julien's latest word he started saying on Friday, he also says "Go" Landon or I will say "ready, set"...and he says "Go!" Julien also loves to make animal noises and knows what the cow, bear, lion, rhino, and dog say. This video isn't great but oh well...hope you can hear something.
